Suing Apple is how you get paid, yo. Or not; maybe it is just how you get ridiculed in the blogosphere. In any event, there is no question Cupertino is a ripe target for gold diggers, what with their nation-state level of cash reserve and seemingly unstoppable sales growth. Apple is a temptation too rich for the less scrupulous among us, those hoping for a one-time get rich quick plan. Corporate lawsuits are one thing, usually a complicated mess of a thing, that we try to cover in Law & Apple, and there is no question Apple is just as guilty as the next international technology giant of abusuing the courts for financial gain.
But what about cash hungry consumer lawsuits? What about when your average Joe or Jane decides they have been injured by Cupertino and need to push it all the way to court to get a fat check?
Well, that is when crazy happens. And by crazy we mean lawsuits so absurd that we had to list them all together so we get some perspective on the lengths people will go to for a jolly trip to the bank. There are some people who can't tell a door from a wall, others who don't really understand what a beta product us, and then there are some who are actually hearing voices compelling them to perform acts of death and destruction.
