WhitePages 2.0New in town and looking for a way to find out who's living around you or what kind of businesses are in the area? With the new WhitePages 2.0 for iOS, it's as simple launching an app on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

WhitePages.com has announced a major new upgrade of their free iOS app on Thursday. Now available in the App Store, WhitePages 2.0 makes finding everything near you as simple as opening an app -- whether you're looking for neighbors, U.S. households or local businesses.

The updated app transforms the traditional concepts of people and business search into a discovery model. Using the location of your device, WhitePages 2.0 makes it easier to find more than 200 million U.S. adults and 30 million businesses while also seeing the names and contact information for people and businesses nearby, then connecting the two with maps, directions, phone numbers and addresses.

"Since the app launched in 2008, WhitePages for iOS has consistently been Top 10 in its category, garnering accolades from Apple as a Top App of the Year and as a Webby Award honoree for our focus on improving how people find and connect with each other," said Bret Moore, general manager of mobile at WhitePages. "This powerful upgrade to our popular iOS app takes the local search experience one step further by providing users with the easiest possible way to discover and connect with both people and stores nearby or explore a new city or destination."

Perfect for travel, WhitePages 2.0 makes it a snap to find local retail stores in your area, with over 30 popular categories throughout 80,000 neighborhoods across the U.S. One-tap access to concise contact information for 90 percent of U.S. adults and nearly every U.S. business, including address, phone number, maps and driving directions, website links and more are also available.

WhitePages 2.0 is now available for download from the App Store; the free 5.3MB download is compatible with all devices running iOS 4.0 or later and includes a universal build for the iPad. Check out all the new features in the video below!
