By this point, you've got to be feeling bad for T-Mobile -- even smaller regional carriers have been nabbing the iPhone 4S while Apple continues to snub the fourth-place U.S. carrier. nTelos is the latest to bring joy to five states later this month.
nTelos Wireless has announced preorders are now available for the iPhone 4S, which will land in the company's retail stores on Friday, April 20. Never heard of nTelos? They're a small regional carrier servicing Virgina and West Virginia, but their reach also extends to Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina as well.
"As a wireless service provider well-known for delivering the best value in wireless, we're pleased to offer the amazing new iPhone 4S to our customers," said Jim Hyde, president and CEO for nTelos Wireless. "iPhone 4S offers an abundance of new features, and with our industry-leading, nationwide smartphone plans, customers can now enjoy the nation's best networks for less."
One of the advantages of nTelos is their pricing: The iPhone 4S will be available for a mere $149.99 (16GB), $249.99 (32GB) or $349.99 (64GB) with 24-month agreement, a savings of $50 over larger rivals AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint. nTelos will also be offering the iPhone 4 for a mere $49.99 as well.
nTelos uses a CDMA network for their regional coverage, with nationwide roaming agreements with both Sprint and Verizon when customers are outside of the home network. Nationwide smartphone plans for the iPhone 4S start at $79.99 per month, which includes unlimited data and messaging and 600 voice minutes -- though the carrier does throttle data speeds after the first 5GB.
